Vmware Error Starting Sound Stream

Having a problem logging in? Any ideas? What is this flat metal sieve that came with my pressure cooker for? I just want to use my Microphone from the front panel. his comment is here

Done alsa-oss is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 4 not upgraded. The only thing I could think that is happening is that an update to ubuntu affected the sound, or degraded performance on my computer. If vmware is running and I start mythtv, then even if myth is paused, vmware can't play audio. SirOracleJuly 11th, 2007, 04:13 PMHi vxd240 All files in both my virtual machines directories are owned by me and I have rw.

See also: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-alsa-devel/2007-April/004301.html My aoss vmplayer works fine now after I've compiled the fixed source package (1.0.14) from lenny. Hi everyone! Not sure what else the problem could be here.

Also, when I use alsa for vmware sound, it is slight laggy and stuttery when playing video. My VM guest is WinXP and I'm running an up to date Ubuntu 7.04. I just want to use my magic jack. And if I connect to my VDI at work from my Linux thin client it doesn't happen either.

Since I actually used vim to edit the file, so the code was NOT tested... When I stop the playback, it will connect successfully and stayed connected until I try to play sound again. SirOracleJuly 13th, 2007, 01:09 PMI installed a new fresh Windows XP virtual machine now. any idea what to do ??

Right? Vmware server 2.0 .vmx sound.present = "TRUE" sound.fileName = "/dev/dsp" sound.autodetect = "FALSE" How can i solve this? Use of the alsa-oss library (i.e. In the sound section instead of use /dev/dsp you can use /dev/adsp Save your settings and Power On you machine. /dev/adsp is used by the Alsa System Sound.

How did you convert back to split files? https://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-331175.html If it does, then this sounds like a much simpler solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. In fact, most times, it was at 0%.   This happens on most of my single core VM's.

I'm using VMWare Workstation 6.5.2 in a Ubuntu 9.04. http://ndsman.net/vmware-error/vmware-error-code-4.php I had everything set up on that winXP other than the sound, I'd really hate to lose it.. The second way is to wrap the application in the libaoss library provided in this package; the wrapper causes the application to access native ALSA device files such as /dev/snd/pcmC0D0c instead When I start it, I get this message: Unable to change virtual machine power state: The process exited with an error: VMware Server Error: VMware Server must be set-UID root, "/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx"

Open your VMWare server and then your virtual machine. Not sure if it's a flash issue or VMware issue and I'm not interested in fingerpointing. Maybe that would help, but I would really rather leave that as a last resort, as this is the 5th PC my card has been in. http://ndsman.net/vmware-error/vmware-error-ui-timeout.php Please suggest me what needs to be done.   Thanks!! 0 0 06/01/13--04:17: vCenter Orchestrator Contact us about this article Установил и настроил этого зверя. Все вроде бы заработало, затем в

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libaoss.so exec /usr/bin/vmplayer "[email protected]" I made my script executable (chmod 774 vmplayer.sh). I can post any systeminfo you need if you first tell me how to find it :p Great community btw, thanks for all the help I've gotten in the past and The trick does not work for me too on Hardy.

How do I send a thank you in this forum?

Switch VMware to /dev/adsp? Browse other questions tagged audio cocos2d-iphone vmware or ask your own question. Wouls ou like an attemt to be made to connect thic virtual device every time you power on the virtual machine? For example, HBA default timeout value is difference.

Can you tell me how to fix this problem? Then click on Device Manager on the left hand pane. There's probably some poorly documented trick to getting ALSA to listen on an alternate /dev/dsp* or adsp*, but all the recipes I've seen are different - some of them contradict each check over here I also created the bash script as outlined in the first post.

slackeyAugust 24th, 2008, 01:04 AMIn case anyone is still having problems, this is what I did: Sound worked on my base ubuntu install, but not in any of my VM's. No matter what I type into the sound card selection in vmware, I get the same SB PCI in windows device man.
