So it is certainly some kind of load failure to do with the control. I'm also onIE 8 and having the same problem as everyone else. It was throwing exception (shown below) One or more errors encountered while loading the designer. Unfortunately, it create the Form.Designer.cs file OK but it still does not show the form. Many browsers treat files regardless of their extensions, and IE once treated files based on it's content also... Sheesh. In addition, have your tried to run devenv /resetsettings or devenv /setup in Visual Studio 2005 Command Prompt? When I try to switch from "Source View" to "Design View", It simply does not show anything.It does not work at all. could you please help me... Left by Carlos L. Now, you haven't built the project yet, so how is the designer able to create an instance of Form1 and show it? I have had the same kinds of problems with the C# Windows Forms designer (VS2005) : the form usually ended up opening correctly (after 5 tries, quite consistently).

Other way is don't use RegXFileCodeGenerator which will use your designer.cs file for its stronly typed resource work - which i think won't be the right choice if you are working Is this because of how the designer works, as you described?
