I am assuming it was a recent update that has caused this problem. The Professional Edition of Easy Recovery Essentials for Windows features a powerful antivirus and rootkit scanner that can normally resolve this and similar errors caused by viruses, rootkits, trojans, or spyware. Windows Update should not require this level of security for standard updates.   A short note for the many people still looking for a solution. Choose "Save" when you are prompted to save the file.
